Jeffrey Johnson, a driver’s companion who is 21 years old, appeared in an Accra Circuit Court on charges of robbery and injury. Two complainants claim that Johnson and his escaped companions stole their cell phones.
Before robbing Ebenezer Dapaah, the first complainant, of his phone and that of Rosemary Akorli, the second complainant, Johnson is accused of stabbing him in the right hand during the crime.
The defendant entered a not guilty plea to the accusations that were brought against him.
Afia Owusua Appiah, the court’s presider, ordered him to police prison with an appearance scheduled for March 7, 2024.
Ebenezer Dapaah, the chef in question, and Rosemary Akorli, the kitchen assistant, were identified by the prosecution, which was chaired by Chief Inspector Wisdom Alorwu, as they explained to the court. At Papaya Food Company, they are both employed.
The accused is a Teshie resident, according to Chief Inspector Alorwu.
Between 1:00 and 1:30 in the morning on February 17, 2024, Johnson and his fugitives rode their motorcycle to the complainant’s residence and met the two of them.
According to the prosecution, Johnson attacked Dapaah on his right hand with a pair of scissors and managed to take three phones worth GH¢4,200 from the complainants: an Itel, a Huawei, and an iPhone X.
According to the prosecution, once the complainants raised the alarm, Johnson was apprehended by locals, but his accomplices took off with the motorcycle.
The complainants turned him over to the Teshie Police patrol squad, according to the prosecution.
One of the complainant’s Itels and the pair of scissors the accused used to carry out the robbery were found during the accused’s search.
