A forty-three-year-old commercial driver in North Suntreso, Kumasi Metropolis, Ashanti Region, took his own life due to financial difficulties.

Residents said that Kwabena Owusu, the dead, hanged himself in his bathtub with a sponge.

Vida Pokuaa, the deceased’s widow, told OTEC News reporter Nana Akwasi Acheampong that the tragic event happened on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 8:30 p.m.

She disclosed that before the incident, she and her husband were having a regular conversation.

“My spouse hanged himself in the bathroom when I was heading there. He was too heavy for me to move, so I hurried outside to get assistance, but by the time I got there, he had already left.

Some locals also disclosed that the father of five had complained about financial difficulties following his job loss.

They continued by saying they thought the reasons he took his own life were related to his experiences.
