A crash in Assin Juaso in the Fosu Municipality of the Central Region has left one person dead and other people badly hurt.
When the collision happened on Friday night, they were going from Assin Brofoyedru to Assin Fosu.
The mourners were driving back from the mortuary in a Nissan pickup with the license plate GT-7929-19, according to Kasapa News, with some of them sitting in the bucket.
An eyewitness claimed that the driver was among the nearly all of the victims who were intoxicated.
The driver lost control of the car and it crashed when he tried to pass a motorcycle as it approached Assin Juaso School.
When they saw the car was going to tumble, a few of the passengers leaped from it, severely injuring themselves.
The driver apparently passed away instantly, and the others were sent to St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu for medical attention.
The deceased’s body has been placed in the mortuary of the Assin Fosu St. Xaviar Hospital for preservation and autopsy.
