A driver lost his life and another person was injured in a sad accident that occurred in Asenema, Okere District in the Eastern region. A Mercedes-Benz DAF transport truck with the license plate GT 1139-Z was involved in the incident.
The terrible incident happened on Friday when the motorist went off the road on Adukrom Hill while negotiating a curve.
Firefighters from the Akropong Municipal Fire Station responded quickly to free the two trapped occupants of the vehicle. After the rescue operation, the patients were quickly taken by the Akropong Police MTTD to the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital in Mampong so they could receive emergency medical care.
Tragically, the driver succumbed to his injuries shortly after reaching the hospital, while the second victim remains in medical care. This grim incident underscores the utmost importance of road safety.
