A 43-year-old driver who appeared before the Twifo Praso District Court was accused of fondling and licking a 12-year-old girl in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region, close to Twifo Eduabeng.
The prosecution’s case presentation, Chief Inspector Joseph Kusah, said that on January 3, 2024, at around eight in the morning, the accused, George Antwi, a practitioner of herbal medicine, called the victim to his house for medication because she had been suffering from skin ailments.
He then tricked the victim into believing he was giving her medicine, stripped her nude, and forced her onto the bed in his bedroom.
After turning out the lights and drawing the curtains to hide the windows, the accused noisily turned on the radio and started to lick and caress the victim’s vagina. The victim’s two younger sisters had entered the room covertly and had seen the occurrence, which Antwi was unaware of. Antwi intimidated them into remaining silent by threatening to kill them and their parents if they told anyone in the neighborhood.
Chief Inspector Kusah informed the court that the kids alerted their parents about the threat despite it, and they filed an official complaint with the police and got a medical form.
He claimed that Antwi was taken into custody and was facing charges of indecent assault and making threats of harm. The accused entered a not guilty plea, and the court, presided over by Maxwell Foli Kpodo, granted him bail in the amount of Gh¢5,000.00 with two sureties.
The suspect was additionally ordered by the court to stay inside the jurisdiction until the matter was resolved.
