Drew Busby was born in Glasgow, Scotland on December 8, 1947. He was a footballer for Airdrieonians of 3rd Lanark. He also spent time with the Toronto Blizzard, Heart of Midlothian, and Morton.

Drew was also the Queen of the South’s player-manager. Busby was confirmed dead on July 1, 2022.

What we know for sure is that he passed away at home peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends. His son, Alan Busby put this information out on Twitter immediately after the sad event occurred.

Drew Busby scored 43 goals for Airdrieonians, Hearts, and Queen of the South in 93 league games. In May 2014, he was inducted into the Scottish Football Hall of Fame. In July 2013, Busby released his autobiography, “The Drew Busby Story.”

Tributes pouring in for the legend indicates that he will surely be missed by his family, friends, and fans.
