Dreams FC midfielder Emmanuel Agyei has raised concerns about the team’s jam-packed schedule following their advancement to the CAF Confederation Cup semifinals.
The Still Believe lads are currently juggling three major competitions this season, a rare occurrence in Ghanaian football, forcing them to play three games in a week.
After making history by reaching the Confederation Cup semifinals with a victory over Stade Malien, Dreams FC faced Asante Kotoko in a Ghanaian top-flight match on Sunday. Emmanuel Agyei put on a stellar performance in that game, earning himself the man of the match title.
However, Agyei admits that their tight schedule is taking a toll on the team’s performance. “Participating in three competitions has been tough. Playing in the league, FA Cup, and Confederation Cup is affecting us,” he acknowledged.
Looking ahead, Dreams FC will now turn their attention to the semifinal showdown against Zamalek, a powerhouse from Egypt.
The first leg is set to be held in Egypt on April 21, 2024, with the return leg scheduled for April 28, 2024, in Kumasi.
