In a significant meeting presided over by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, it was decided that Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum will continue in his role as the head coach of Asante Kotoko SC.
The meeting, which took place at Otumfuo’s Manhyia palace on Tuesday, April 18, brought together players, coaching staff, and the Interim Management Committee (IMC) to address the challenges facing the club.
The discussions primarily focused on finding solutions to the team’s recent poor performance in the Ghana Premier League. Despite a string of disappointing results, the decisions made during the meeting are expected to help the Kumasi-based club bounce back to winning ways.
In their last five matches in the ongoing 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, Asante Kotoko SC has suffered four defeats and managed only one draw.
Recent tensions arose when supporters disrupted a training session, calling for Dr. Ogum’s resignation. In response to the crisis, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II promptly convened an emergency meeting to address the situation.
With a renewed sense of determination, Asante Kotoko SC is now preparing to face league leaders FC Samartex in their upcoming match on matchday 27 at the Baba Yara Stadium, with hopes of returning to their winning ways.
