Doug Jones is an American actor, contortionist, and mime artist who was born on May 24, 1960. His specialty is playing non-human monsters, generally with the use of elaborate makeup and special effects. In the movies Mimic (1997), Hellboy (2004), Pan’s Labyrinth (2006), Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008), Crimson Peak (2015), and The Shape of Water, he most notably worked with renowned director Guillermo del Toro (2017).

Josephine Jones and Robert Jones are Doug Jones parents. Jones, the youngest of four brothers, was born in Indianapolis and went to Bishop Chatard High School. He obtained his degree from Ball State University, where he used his experience as a mime to take on the role of Charlie Cardinal, the school mascot.
Jones began his career as a 1980s commercial figure in the television and film industries “Tonight’s Mac. He was a contortionist and claimed, “You’d be shocked at how frequently that appears in ads. They’ll need someone to hold a funny-looking Tide box or something. I once crammed myself into a box for a relaxed-fit jeans commercial. He played Gordon Page, Jr., a young autistic man who vanished from a treatment facility in 1991, in an episode of Unsolved Mysteries in 1994.
