Actress and reality TV personality Venita Akpofure has advised young people to wait until they are “tired” of having fun before getting married.

Her advice to her daughter would be to wait until she was at least 28 before getting married.

Getting married young isn’t a smart decision, according to the divorced mother of two, because choices change as people get older.

Venita recently warned, “Don’t marry young,” in an interview with Cool FM Nigeria, Lagos, which Tacha was hosting. Sweetheart, don’t go and attend high school. Live it up and be youthful. Get married while you’re exhausted.

“Ideally, we can move forward with it if my daughter approaches me and declares she is ready to get married—as long as she is not older than 28. 28 or less is not acceptable.

Because you’re going to have second thoughts and, at twenty or so, you’re still discovering who you are. Never mind; there are mature individuals out there. To be sure you don’t want to be stuck here [in marriage], you should explore a variety of things in life.

Living apart from her spouse in a house connected by a “magnificent corridor” is her idea of the perfect marriage, she insisted.
