The famous Donald Mayer Blinken was an American businessman and diplomat. He was a director and one of the founders of E. M. Warburg Pincus & Company, an investment bank in New York. He served as the board chairman of the State University of New York from 1978 to 1990 and as United States Ambassador.
He Died on September 22, 2022, at the age of 96 in East Hampton, New York, U.S. The Town of East Hampton is located in southeastern Suffolk County, New York, at the eastern end of the South Shore of Long Island. It is the easternmost town in the state of New York. At the time of the 2020 United States census, it had a total population of 28,385.
The cause of his death was not mentioned in the police report and according to BBC, the reporter said his son tweeted on his Twitter page saying: lived with decency, dignity, and modesty” and had served his city, state, and country.

Blinken was president of the Mark Rothko Foundation from 1976 to 1989. He lived in the River House and East Hampton, New York.
In 2015, the Open Society Archives in Hungary renamed Vera and Donald Blinken Open Society Archives after receiving a major donation from the couple. Blinken died in East Hampton, New York on September 22, 2022, at the age of 96.
He was also awarded the US Department of Defense Award for Distinguished Public Service and was the first US ambassador to receive Hungary’s highest civilian honor.
