Dominic Rennie Raab is a British politician who served as Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Secretary of State for Justice, and Lord Chancellor from 2021 to 2023, with a brief period out of office during the premiership of Liz Truss.

His father, who was Jewish, came to Britain from Czechoslovakia in 1938 at age six, when his family decided to flee because the Munich Agreement gave the Sudetenland to Nazi Germany.

Raab was brought up in his English mother’s faith, in the Church of England. He grew up in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. Raab was 12 years old when his father died of cancer.
