Tom Stoltman is a British strongman competitor from Invergordon, Scotland. He is the 2021 World’s, Strongest Man, becoming the fifth British man and the first Scottish man to achieve such a feat.

However, his journey to becoming the World’s strongest man was not an easy one.

Does Tom Stoltman have a learning disability?

Tom Stoltman, at the age of five, was diagnosed with autism.

However, he kept this a secret from his classmates till he was around 13 or 14 years old in Secondary school. He often stayed away from situations that he found too hard to handle, including not being able to go out into crowds or going out in public.

When he turned 17, his older brother, who is a five-time winner of Scotland’s Strongest Man, began taking him to the gym. His brother also introduced him to a clinical psychologist named Amy, who helped Tom “go into places that he’d never been able to go before.”

This coupled with the intense training he has undergone, has shaped him up to be the champion he is today.
