Sister Bliss is the stage name of British keyboardist, record producer, DJ, and songwriter Ayalah Deborah Bentovim (born 30 December 1970). She is most recognized in the studio for her collaborations with Rollo Armstrong as one half of the production team Rollo & Sister Bliss, particularly as a member of Faithless. Faithless was founded in 1995 by Sister Bliss, Rollo, Jamie Catto, and Maxi Jazz. Bliss played the piano, violin, saxophone, and bass guitar in addition to creating the majority of the music for Faithless herself using electronic instruments.
Over the years, a number of different people have been members and collaborators, including Zo Johnston and, frequently, Rollo’s sister Dido, who launched her musical career by contributing backup vocals to Rollo’s 1994 hit “Give Me Life” (under the pseudonym Mr. V). While Sister Bliss performed on stage with Maxi Jazz throughout the numerous tours for Faithless, Rollo chose to remain in the studio. Seven albums, including two number ones, and six top 10 singles were released by Faithless throughout their successful 17-year career. Faithless has sold more than 15 million records to date and performed live for countless numbers of people all around the world.
