Sanna Mirella Marin (born November 16, 1985) is a Finnish politician who has been the country’s Prime Minister since 2019. She has been a member of the Social Democratic Party of Finland (SDP) and a member of Parliament since 2015.

Marin was appointed Prime Minister on December 8, 2019, following Antti Rinne’s resignation in the aftermath of the postal strike dispute. She is the youngest person in Finnish history to hold the post, as well as the world’s fourth-youngest state leader, behind Dritan Abazovi of Montenegro, Gabriel Boric of Chile, and Ibrahim Traoré of Burkina Faso.

She ran unsuccessfully for Tampere City Council in 2008, but ran again and was elected in the 2012 elections. She was elected chairwoman of the City Council in a matter of months, serving from 2013 to 2017. She was re-elected to the City Council in 2017. She rose to notoriety after video footage of her presiding over tense meetings was uploaded on YouTube.
