In 2009, Ryan Giggs received the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award. In addition to the numerous awards he has earned in football, Giggs was given an OBE for his contributions to the game in the Queen’s 2007 Birthday Honours List.
As one of the three over-age players chosen by Great Britain to compete in the 2012 Summer Olympics with Craig Bellamy and Micah Richards, Giggs was officially designated the squad captain on June 28, 2012. At 38 years and 243 days old, he broke the 88-year-old record for the oldest goal scorer in the Summer Olympics’ football competition when he scored with a header against the United Arab Emirates in a 3-1 victory on July 29.
Does Ryan Giggs have a sister?
He has no sister as of 2022.
Giggs had an eight-year affair with Natasha, the wife of his brother Rhodri. Ryan’s past relationships with members of the Giggs family were severed as a result of the affair; after Ryan was named manager of the Wales national team, Danny Giggs claimed he was “ashamed” of him and couldn’t even bring himself to mention his name.
