American professional basketball player Kyrie Andrew Irving is with the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association. Irving was inspired as a young boy by his father, who was also a professional basketball player. Irving was very active in sports while he was in high school because he was inspired and helped by his father. He attended Montclair Kimberley Academy and then St. Patrick High School, where he excelled as a player.
In the 2011 NBA drafts, he was selected with the first overall pick due to his expertise in basketball. Nike confirmed on Monday that it has severed all ties with the Brooklyn Nets point guard after initially suspending its partnership with him and putting off the release of his upcoming Kyrie 8 signature shoe. ESPN was informed by a Nike spokesperson that Kyrie “is no longer a Nike athlete.”
