Maurizio Arrivabene (born 7 March 1957) is the CEO of the Italian football club Juventus. Arrivabene was the team principal of the Formula One team Scuderia Ferrari.
He was appointed team principal in November 2014, succeeding Marco Mattiacci, and was succeeded by Mattia Binotto in January 2019.
Arrivabene has a background in marketing and sales. He joined Philip Morris International in 1997 and rose through the ranks to become Vice President of Marlboro Global Communication and Promotions in 2007, and Vice President of Consumer Channel Strategy and Event Marketing in 2011. He became involved with the company’s sponsorship (via the Marlboro brand) of the Ferrari Formula One team through his work with Philip Morris and sat on the Formula One Commission as a representative of the sport’s sponsors beginning in 2010.
On November 23, 2014, Ferrari announced that Arrivabene had been named team principal, succeeding Marco Mattiacci, who had only been in the position since April of that year. Sergio Marchionne, the new Ferrari chairman, made the decision to install Arrivabene, citing his “thorough understanding not only of Ferrari but also of the governance mechanisms and requirements of the sport” as one of the reasons for his appointment. Marchionne made this appointment as part of a team rejuvenation process after deposing former Ferrari Chairman Luca di Montezemolo. After the 2018 season, Arrivabene was replaced as Ferrari team principal by former technical director Mattia Binotto on January 7, 2019. Since 2012, Arrivabene has served as an independent board member of the Italian football club Juventus F.C.
