Katie Ledecky is an American swimmer.
She was born in 1997 in Maryland and began her swimming journey at the age 6.
The champion swimmer got accepted to Stone Ridge School before graduating in 2015.
She later enroll at the Stanford University
At the age of 15, Ledecky made the United States Olympic team and set an American record in the 800-meter freestyle to earn a gold medal at the 2012 Summer Games.
Since then, Ledecky has broken world records in a variety of freestyle competitions spanning from 400 to 1,500 meters.
She went on to win a gold medal at the 2012 Olympics and set multiple world records. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, she extended her winning run to four gold medals and one silver medal.
She is regarded as one of the best swimmers of all time, having won seven Olympic gold medals and fifteen world championship gold medals, the most in history for a female swimmer.
