Harrison Birtwistle, the renowned composer, passed away at the age of 87.
He died after a long illness at his home in Mere, Wiltshire on 18 April 2022.

Harrison Birtwistle has two sons; Adam Birtwistle and Silas Birtwistle.
Adam Birtwistle is a British artist whose idiosyncratic portraits are represented in the National Portrait Gallery. He studied in both the US and the UK and attended the Chelsea School of Art, where he learned sculpture for four years. After this he spent two years at the Arch Bronze Foundry, working with Ben Kneale.
He attended printing classes at the Royal Academy in 1986. While doing this, he was preparing for his first one-man show in London with Piano Nobile Fine Paintings.
Silas Birtwistle is a British artist and sculptor who is well known for his use of recycled and sustainable materials. He was awarded a BA Hons in English/History and an MA in Furniture Design.
