Esteban José Jean-Pierre Ocon-Khelfane is a French Formula One racing driver who drives for Alpine. In the 2016 Belgian Grand Prix, he made his Formula One debut for Manor Racing, replacing Rio Haryanto.
Ocon was a member of Mercedes’ driver development program before joining Renault. At the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix, he won his first Formula One race.

Ocon began karting in 2006, finishing seventh in the French Championship Minime class. He won the title in 2007 and went on to win the Cadet class in 2008, beating out Anthoine Hubert and Pierre Gasly.
He subsequently raced in the KF3 category for three years, competing in the Spanish Championship and the Italian Open Masters. He won the French KF3 championship in 2010 and finished second in the WSK Euro Series in 2011 to Max Verstappen.
Alpine has kept Ocon and Alonso for the 2022 season. Despite incurring a penalty for colliding with Mick Schumacher, Ocon finished sixth in the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix.
He qualified fifth and finished sixth in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix when a close duel with Alonso resulted in the team ordering Ocon to maintain his place. Due to gearbox troubles in qualifying, he qualified twentieth for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
