Emma Slater, who is originally from the historic English town of Tamworth, began dancing at the age of five. By the time she was 10 years old, she had been introduced to Latin and ballroom dance, and she quickly started competing. She has a long history of significant professional success and is currently a professional dancer on ABC’s popular competition series Dancing with the Stars.

Early in her career, Slater made an appearance in the “Round Here” music video by George Michael as well as the popular exercise program “Latinasize with Lilia.” She joined the critically acclaimed Simply Ballroom cast at the age of sixteen and performed with them on tour in South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom, including London’s West End.

She and her partner won the title of 2005 British Under 21 Latin American Champions later that year in Blackpool, England. In the years that followed, Slater competed in Strictly Come Dancing: South Africa and won the 2006 United Kingdom Under 21 Latin American Championships in Bournemouth, England. He is currently a Top 20 player in the world and represents England at all levels.

Slater made an appearance in the 2007 Universal Pictures film Mamma Mia!, directed by Phyllida Lloyd and starring Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, and Colin Firth. She is also included on the Grammy-winning movie soundtrack.
