Emma Raducanu unexpectedly disclosed that, after only five months of working together, she and her coach Torben Beltz had broken up.
German Beltz was reportedly engaged by Raducanu because she needed an experienced advisor during her early months on the WTA Tour.
Raducanu thanked Torben for his “professionalism and dedication” in a statement announcing the split, adding: “He has a huge heart and I have enjoyed our strong chemistry during the time together.”
German Beltz is most renowned for his role in transforming precocious youngster Angelique Kerber into the world’s number one tennis player.
