David was born in London to his mother Alice Mary and father Morris Horovitch. Mary was a teacher and her husband Morris was a daycare worker. From all available information, David seems to be his parents’ only biological child.
David’s father, Morris was Jewish, however, his wife, Alice Mary was not. David’s parents did not bring him up in the Jewish faith but when he was in his 40s, he was given a string of Jewish roles, and that was when he started learning anything about the religion
He attended St Christopher School (a boarding independent school in Letchworth Garden City in Hertfordshire) and later attended the Central School of Speech and Drama in London.
David has played many roles on popular British TV shows for over four decades. some of the TV shows include; Thriller, The New Avengers, Prince Regent, Piece of Cake, Bulman, Hold the Back Page, Boon, Love Hurts, Westbeach, Just William, Drop the Dead Donkey, Peak Practice, Foyle’s War, The Second Coming, Deceit and Casualty as well as starring in the little-remembered ITV detective show Bognor.
