David Duke Carr born July 21, 1979, is a retired American professional football quarterback who played in the National Football League for 11 seasons. The Houston Texans selected him first overall in the 2002 NFL Draft.

He attended Fresno State University and played football there. Carr also had time with the Carolina Panthers, New York Giants, and San Francisco 49ers. After the Giants’ triumph over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI, he won a Super Bowl ring as a backup.

David Carr went to Fresno’s Valley Oak Elementary School. He went on to Clovis Unified’s Kastner Intermediate School in Fresno, where he set a number of California D-I middle school records as the Thunderbirds’ quarterback. Carr attended Stockdale High School after relocating to Bakersfield, California.
