A state-of-the-art library has been purchased by the Mensah Foundation, a philanthropic, non-profit organization founded by DJ Mensah, a prominent Ghanaian disc jockey, for the Ayiresu D/A Basic School.
The Awutu Senya District in Ghana’s Central Region is home to the Ayiresu D/A Basic School. In honor of DJ Mensah’s deceased mother, who passed away in 2022, the library has been given the name “Afia Aboraa Library.”
On Tuesday, February 7, 2023, DJ Mensah and his crewβwhich included Sarkcess Team and Mr. Drew, a singer attended the school to commission the project. Opanyin Kwame Amoquandoh, a prominent public figure, Justice Mensah, the acting chief of Ayiresu, and instructors were also present at the festive inaugural ceremony.
The 2020 renovation project was put on hold as a result of Ghana’s new coronavirus outbreak. However, the project was finished this year.
The library is completely stocked with educational resources, particularly books from EPP Books. Together with “YOU AT HEART,” Ghanafest Canada is funding the renovation effort as well.
As a part of DJ Mensah’s steadfast dedication to giving back to society, the Mensah Foundation provided funding for the renovation project.
