Did Warren Buffett Buy bitcoin?

Despite its recent decline, bitcoin has increased by more than 2,000% in the last five years.

Though the fact that the world’s largest cryptocurrency has clearly entered the mainstream, one prominent investor remains skeptical of the opportunity: Warren Buffett.

He stated that he will not buy Bitcoin even if it is sold to him at the cheapest price.

What did Warren Buffett say about bitcoin?

Buffett said at the Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholders meeting on Saturday(April 30) that while he doesn’t know whether bitcoin will rise or fall in value in the future, he is fairly certain that it doesn’t produce anything, and as such he doesn’t need to possess Bitcoin.

To put that in context, bitcoin is currently worth more than $38,000 per unit. While criticizing bitcoin, Buffett mentioned two assets that he would purchase if given the chance.

Buffett isn’t known for being an agricultural investor, but he sees value in a critical asset class for the industry: farmland. His point is that when you buy farmland, you are purchasing a tangible asset that produces food.

Apartment buildings are another asset that Buffett would consider purchasing if the price was right.
