Takeoff, born Kirshnik Khari Ball (June 18, 1994 – November 1, 2022), was an American rapper. He was best known for being a member of the hip hop trio Migos with his uncle Quavo and first cousin once removed Offset.
The group had multiple top ten Billboard Hot 100 hits, including “MotorSport” featuring Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, “Stir Fry,” “Walk It Talk It” featuring Drake, and “Bad and Boujee” featuring Lil Uzi Vert, which peaked at number one (although his absence from the song resulted in various memes).
He was also nominated for two Grammy Awards. Takeoff was shot and killed in Houston, Texas on November 1, 2022.

Kirshnik Khari Ball was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia, which is located 30 miles (50 kilometers) northeast of Atlanta. His high school attendance is unknown.
Takeoff began rapping in 2008, alongside family members Quavo and Offset. The group was originally known as Polo Club, but they later changed their name to Migos.
On August 25, 2011, the group released their first full-length project, a mixtape titled Juug Season. On June 1, 2012, they released the mixtape No Label.
