Did Queen do any disco songs?

Queen is a British rock band founded in 1970 in London by Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, keyboard), Brian May (guitar, vocals), and Roger Taylor (drums, vocals), who were later joined by John Deacon (bass).

Their early works were influenced by progressive rock, hard rock, and heavy metal, but the band later moved into the more conventional and radio-friendly territory by embracing additional elements such as arena music and pop rock.

Did Queen do any disco songs?

They did have disco music. “Another One Bites the Dust” is one of them.

Queen’s founding members met in West London in the late 1960s. Brian May built his own guitar with his father in 1963, and the following year he created the band 1984 (named after George Orwell’s novel) with singer Tim Staffell.

In early 1968, May quit the group to concentrate on his degree in Physics and Infrared Astronomy at Imperial College and to locate a group that could write original stuff. He co-founded Smile alongside Staffell (now on bass) and keyboardist Chris Smith.

To round out the lineup, May advertised on a college bulletin board for a “Mitch Mitchell/Ginger Baker type” drummer; Roger Taylor, a young dental student, auditioned and was hired.
