The American children’s writer and medal-winning novelist, Patricia MacLachlan, has passed on at 84, on March 31 in her home in Williamsburg according to her son John MacLachlan.
Patricia MacLachlan received the Newbery Medal for her novel series “Sarah, Plain, and Tall” in 1986.
She was a board member of the National Children’s Book and Literacy Alliance, a national not-for-profit organization that advocates for literacy, literature, and libraries.
Patricia MacLachlan was born on March 3, 1938, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, United States.
