The Medellín Cartel was founded by Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria, a Colombian drug lord and narcoterrorist, and he served as its sole leader from 1 December 1949 to 2 December 1993.

Escobar, known as “the king of cocaine,” accumulated an estimated net worth of US$30 billion by the time of his death, which is comparable to $70 billion as of 2022, and his drug cartel monopolised the importation of cocaine into the United States throughout the 1980s and early 1990s.

Did Pablo Escobar wife get his money?

From our research, we discovered that Escobar’s wife did not get his money. However, only two people were privy to his money during his life and after he died: Roberto Escobar and Alba Marina Escobar.

Escobar’s impact is still debatable; despite widespread condemnation of the heinousness of his actions, many Colombians saw him as a “Robin Hood-like” character who gave the impoverished numerous conveniences.

Over 25,000 people attended his burial and grieved his death.  In addition, Hacienda Nápoles, his private estate, has been turned into a theme park. Additionally, a lot of music, cinema, and television have dramatised or drawn inspiration from his life.
