Marlon Brando Jr. was an American actor. Brando was born on April 3, 1924, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Marlon Brando Sr., a pesticide and chemical feed manufacturer, and Dorothy Julia Pennebaker. Jocelyn  and Frances  were Brando’s elder sisters (1922–1994). Brando’s ancestors were mostly German, Dutch, English, and Irish. Johann Wilhelm Brandau, his patrilineal immigrant ancestor, arrived in New York City from the Palatinate in Germany in the early 1700s. Brando is also a descendant of Louis DuBois, a French Huguenot who arrived in New York around 1660.

Did Marlon Brando leave money to his children?

Marlon Brando had to divide his remaining fortune among his numerous baby mamas and 11 children. Marlon Brando probably didn’t leave his grandchildren with much more than a few crazy stories. He left behind over ten children (two of whom died before him) and over 30 grandchildren when he died.

Brando’s career suffered a commercial and critical setback in the 1960s. He directed and starred in the cult western One-Eyed Jacks, which was a critical and commercial flop, before embarking on a string of notable box-office flops, beginning with Mutiny on the Bounty (1962). Brando agreed to do a screen test as Vito Corleone in Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather after ten years of underachievement (1972). Brando got the part and went on to win his second Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for his performance, which critics regard as one of his best.
