Did Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan ever meet?

Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan met in Paris in 1983 to talk music. Millions of records were eventually sold by them both. The two extremes of the spectrum of how creators make their work are wonderfully captured in their talk.

In the 1950s and the early 1960s, Cohen sought a career as a poet and novelist. He didn’t start his music career until 1967. Three more folk albums by Leonard Cohen—Songs of Leonard Cohen (1967), Songs from a Room (1969), Songs of Love and Hate (1971), and New Skin for the Old Ceremony (1973)—were released after his debut (1974). Phil Spector co-wrote and produced Cohen’s 1977 album Death of a Ladies’ Man, which marked a departure from his earlier austere style.
