Since the beginning of 2019, Katherine Porter, a well-known American Democrat politician, lecturer, and attorney, has served as the U.S. Representative representing California’s 45th congressional district.

In the newly established 47th congressional district in California, she won reelection in 2022. With her victory, she has become the first Democrat to be elected to represent the district, which includes a sizable chunk of Laguna Niguel, large amounts of Anaheim, and significant portions of south-central Orange County, including Irvine, Tustin, and Lake Forest.

On January 3, 1974, Katie Porter was born in a tiny household in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Dan Porter, her father, was a farmer at first before switching to banking. Liz, a founding member of Fons and Porter’s Love of Quilting, was her mother.

What caused their divorce?

Porter married Matthew Hoffman in 2003, and the couple has three kids. During her campaign, she claimed that her marriage had been filled with physical and mental abuse.

Hoffman struck her, shoved her one-year-old daughter across the kitchen, threatened to kill himself, and insulted her family, according to Porter. She obtained a protective order against him in 2013. The following year, they divorced.
