NFL quarterback Derek Carr plays for the Las Vegas Raiders in American football.

Carr was selected by the Raiders in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft after playing for Fresno State. NFL quarterback David Carr, a former first-round choice, is his older brother and a current analyst.

Carr now holds the Raiders’ franchise record for passing touchdowns.

Carr agreed to a contract extension for $125 million over five years in 2017, including a $40 million fully guaranteed bonus.

As a sophomore at Clements High School, Derek Carr threw for 1,246 yards and 12 touchdowns. As a junior, he had 1,622 yards and 16 scores as he helped his team to a perfect 13-0 season.

At Fresno State, Derek Carr started three seasons and racked up 12,843 throwing yards and 113 touchdowns. For his performance throughout the 2012 season, he was named the MWC Offensive Player of the Year.

Carr’s accomplishments during three seasons at Fresno State earned him the 2013 CFPA Elite QB Award.

Carr led the FBS in 2013 with 5,083 yards and 50 touchdowns. Heisman Trophy voting saw him come in at number eight, and he also helped Fresno State win the MWC Conference.
