During a heated social media feud in 2017, Khan accused his wife Faryal Makhdoom of moving on with Joshua.

On Instagram, he labeled heavyweight boxer Eddie Chambers a “disgrace to the superior black race.”
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, claimed the message was received from a bogus account, but Chambers demonstrated that it was sent from Joshua’s verified account.
