The late George Richard Haley Jr. was better received as an American football cornerback in the National Football League for the Washington Redskins, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played college football at the University of Pittsburgh and was drafted in the ninth round of the 1959 NFL Draft.
Dick Haley was the father of Todd Haley, former offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns and the Steelers as well as the former head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Pittsburgh Steelers legend Dick Haley died at the age of 85, on March 10, 2023. Former NFL head coach Todd Haley who is the son of Dick wrote on Twitter that his father died after a “long fight with dementia and Parkinson’s” disease.
