Deputy Defence Minister cuts sod for police headquarters project at Atwima Foase

Atwima Foase in the Ashanti Region is set to receive a new district police headquarters, thanks to the efforts of Deputy Minister of Defence and Member of Parliament for Atwima Kwanwoma, Kofi Amankwa-Manu.

The sod-cutting ceremony for this much-needed project was recently held, with the construction expected to be completed within six months, funded by the District Assemblies Common Fund.

During the ground-breaking ceremony, Mr. Amankwa-Manu emphasized the vital role of security in the development and growth of communities. He highlighted the importance of enhancing security in the constituency to align with his development agenda for the area, emphasizing that security is a fundamental human right in today’s world.

The MP commended the police for their continuous efforts in combating crime in the area and expressed optimism that the new police headquarters would enhance their operations. He also called on all stakeholders, including traditional leaders, to support the contractors in completing the project as per the schedule.

District Chief Executive (DCE) Prince Karikari urged the contractor to engage local youth in the construction process to boost the local economy. Nana Appiah Ampim Frimpong II, the Chief of Foase, lauded the MP and DCE for ensuring that the community benefits from this significant project and pledged his support for the successful completion of the work.

Representatives from Construction Ambassadors, the contractors for the project, assured that the construction would be completed on time. Chief Superintendent Ernest Acheampong, the Asokwa Divisional Commander, emphasized the importance of the new infrastructure for the police to effectively combat crime and praised the political leaders for prioritizing security in the district.

Overall, the construction of the district police headquarters in Atwima Foase is a significant step towards improving security and fostering development in the region. The collaborative efforts of various stakeholders and the commitment of the contractors promise a successful and timely completion of the project.
