Before his anticipated return to the Premier League with Fulham, former Chelsea and Arsenal player Willian has received death threats at Brazilian club Corinthians.
Willian has left Corinthians after receiving death threats as a result of his team losing two significant competitions in recent weeks, and is likely to make a shocking return to England less than a year after his emotional reunion to his hometown team.
The 34-year-old winger terminated his contract with Arsenal after a dissatisfying one-year stay there with the intention of finishing his career with the Brazilian giants, but things haven’t worked out the way he had wanted.
Willian is about to accept a contract from Fulham and will join Marco Silva’s freshly promoted team, who won their debut Premier League game against Liverpool and earned a crucial point.
Willian originally arrived in England in 2013, and at that time, he spent seven years with Chelsea, where he won two Premier League championships, the Europa League, the FA Cup, and the League Cup.
