He tweeted: “Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur’s death is not only a loss for his party, the NDC, or his family, or for the community from which he came. It is a loss for the entire country. Ghana is poorer for his departure.

“He was a vibrant personality in our national life, who still had so much in him to give to our country. He was a fine public servant, a man of dignity and humility, who conducted himself very well in the public space of Ghana.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Ghana, my wife, Rebecca, and my entire family, I extend our profound condolences to his devoted wife, Matilda, and their children, Kwesi Nyan and Araba Akyere, and his mother, Maa Effie, on their loss.

“I wish him peaceful rest in the bosom of the Almighty. He deserves it. Farewell Paa Kwesi. God bless.
