American internet personality and live streamer, Rangesh Mutama, who goes by the name Neon or N3ON, has recently made headlines after his arrest in Dubai.

Rumors quickly spread online that the controversial streamer had died while in custody, causing a stir among his fans and followers.

Neon, born in Houston, Texas, in 2004, is known for creating content playing popular games like Fortnite and NBA 2K. With a sizable following on platforms like YouTube, Twitch, and Kick, Neon has attracted attention for his controversial content and clickbait tactics to boost views.

In the past, Neon has faced criticism for faking terminal cancer in a video, only to later reveal it was a hoax. He has also come under fire for misleading videos, including one during the Covid-19 pandemic where he falsely claimed to have met someone with the virus.

The latest incident involving Neon occurred in Dubai, where he was arrested alongside his girlfriend for filming in a theme park without proper permits. The moment of their apprehension was captured on a live stream, leading to Neon’s explanation in a subsequent video.

Neon admitted fault for the situation, acknowledging that his team accidentally filmed the police officers. He shared that they had spent 37 hours in jail and learned valuable lessons about respecting local laws and regulations.

Following the incident, Neon reportedly took responsibility by firing his security team and addressing his actions. He emphasized the consequences of irresponsible behavior, especially in a place like Dubai known for its strict laws and regulations.

Despite the false rumors of his death circulating online, Neon resurfaced in a video to set the record straight and explain the situation that led to his arrest in Dubai.
