Dean Cortopassi was an American agriculturalist.

He was the son of an immigrant farmer. He spent his life farming crops and building businesses.

Cortopassi was a leader in the agricultural community and he was a partner in the operation of many farms on 7,000 acres of land he acquired over his farming career.

In 1958, Cortopassi earned an Associate of Arts degree from the University of California, Davis. Cortopassi was passionate about education, and he established the JobRedi Foundation to help recent high school graduates.

He was a pioneer in vineyard-style olive growing and invested in key agribusiness enterprises such as Stanislaus Food Products, Gilroy Canning, Sierra Quality Canners, Muir Glen Organic Tomatoes, and Corto Olive.

He died at the age of 84 from complications from a stroke, according to his family.
