On January 7, 1969, David Harold Yost, an American actor and producer, was born.
Yost is best known for his role as Billy Cranston in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series as well as Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie, Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers, and Power Rangers Zeo.
Yost was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Yost traveled much around the nation while participating in and won various national gymnastics competitions, most notably the state championships in Iowa and Montana.
Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton, California, produced Yost’s diploma in 1987.
In 1991, Yost graduated from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, with a Bachelor of Arts in communication and dramatic arts.
Three months after arriving in California with the intention of pursuing an acting career, Yost received a casting call for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers television series.
Billy Cranston, the Blue Power Ranger, was portrayed by Yost.
Throughout the first four seasons of the show, Yost made appearances in about 200 episodes.
Yost’s character didn’t adopt different colors or give his power coins to stand-ins, in contrast to the other original cast members.
Yost was the only cast member to show up in every episode of the first season.
