Mwai Kibaki’s death on Friday 22 April 2022 came as a disappointment for many who remember the iconic duo of Mwai and Lucy Kibaki, both of whom are no more.
This has caused many to raise questions about the whereabouts of the surviving members of the family.
David Kibaki: Who is Mwai Kibaki’s son?
David Kibaki is the son of the late former Kenyan president and first lady Mwai Kibaki and Lucy Muthoni Kibaki. He has three other siblings, namely Judy Wanjiku, Jimmy Kibaki, and Tony Githinji.
Although his brother Jimmy Kibaki has made some strides in the political sphere, albeit unsuccessful at the moment, David is yet to show any concrete interest in chattering the same path as his father in Kenyan politics.
Should he or any of his siblings make successful political bids it will not be the first time two generations of the same family serve in top political positions in Kenya.
The Kenyattas are a prime example of such, with both Jomo and Uhuru Kenyatta serving various political roles including president.
