David Brenner, an American film editor who died on February 17, 2022, was a member of Oliver Stone’s “hot shot” group of aspiring editors, along with Joe Hutshing, Pietro Scalia, and Julie Monroe. The American Cinema Editors elected him as a member. As a 59-year-old, Brenner passed away on February 17, 2022.
Before he passed away, Brenner had spent the previous year or so working on the “Avatar” movie’ sequels.
With his editing on “Born on the Fourth of July,” Brenner was honored with an Academy Award. Brenner was renowned for his work on “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” in addition to his work on the “Avatar” prequels.
