Oscar-winning film editor David Brenner has been contributing to the impending sequel to the blockbuster Avatar.
Brenner, a Hollywood native, completed his education at Stanford University and North Hollywood High School before working as a trainee editor on the 1985 movie Radioactive Dreams.
Oliver Stone’s “Born on the Fourth of July,” starring Tom Cruise, won Brenner the Academy Award for film editing in 1990. He and editor John Hutshing received the honor jointly.
David Norris Brenner was an American stand-up comedian, actor, and novelist who lived from February 4, 1936, until March 15, 2014. Brenner, who appeared most frequently on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in the 1970s and 1980s, was dubbed “the king of hip, observational humor” by his friend, comic Richard Lewis.
