American voice actor Dave Mallow was born on October 19, 1948, and is now retired. The father of Mallow was a radio and television broadcaster with 30 years of on-air experience at Chicago’s WGN. Mallow earned a BFA in theater arts from Drake University in 1970 after graduating from Maine South High School. He moved to Los Angeles in 1984 to pursue a career in voice acting, which has included commercials, film dubbing, looping, narration, audiobooks, radio plays, and voice characterization in numerous video games, toys, and cartoons. He had a successful 12-year career as a radio personality in the Midwest of the United States and New York City.
He voiced the daily intros and many monsters for Saban Productions, including the good-natured “Baboo” in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Angemon, Gekkomon, and Uppamon in Digimon: Digital Monsters, among many others. He is also remembered for his work on FLCL from Digital Manga, Amarao from FLCL, Herzog from the alternate reality game I Love Bees, and Akuma from the Street Fighter series.
