Dave Grohl, the leader of the Foo Fighters, recently opened up about his hearing loss and how it has affected him after four decades of rocking.
On The Howard Stern Show, Grohl discussed his deafness and clarified that his hearing loss is more severe in his left ear as a result of decades of drumming.
“When I play the drums, my left ear is worse than my right ear because of my snare drum and my stage monitor,” Grohl explained.
Even though his difficulty to understand people during normal conversations, Grohl believes that while producing music and editing songs in the studio, he can hear the tiniest of details.
After all those years of playing drums and having his snare drum and audio monitor to his left, the two-time Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee went on to say that his left ear is a little worse than his right.
Although the 53-year-old admitted he’s been reading lips for the greater part of two decades, it’s been more difficult since masks became commonplace in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
