A tragic incident occurred in Abuakwa-Asenemaso in the Atwima Nwabiagya South, where a 76-year-old woman was fatally stabbed by her own daughter, Joyce Boateng.

The motive behind this heinous act was driven by the false accusations made by two pastors, who labeled the victim as a witch.

According to reports, Joyce’s brother revealed that witnesses had spotted her heading towards the cemetery with blood stains on her clothing.

The situation escalated further when Joyce attempted to harm herself by ingesting a toxic substance, which was fortunately intercepted by a family member.

Isaac Owusu Boateng, the assembly member for the Asenemaso electoral area, verified the tragic incident and emphasized the urgent need for public awareness and education on such sensitive matters.

He highlighted the influence that religious leaders hold in society, noting that some women prioritize their pastors’ opinions over their own family members.
