Henderson attended Batesville’s South Panola High School. He rushed for 5,801 yards and scored 68 touchdowns in high school football. He has committed to playing college football at the University of Memphis. Henderson appeared in all 13 games as a freshman at Memphis in 2016, making six starts. He finished with 482 yards on 87 carries and five touchdowns.
Henderson appeared in 12 games with 10 starts as a sophomore in 2017 and rushed for 1,154 yards on 130 carries with nine touchdowns. Due to an injury, he was unable to compete in the 2017 Liberty Bowl. Henderson started again for Memphis in 2018. In 2018, Henderson had a breakout season, rushing for 1909 yards and 22 touchdowns on 214 attempts. He was the first Memphis player in 13 years to finish in the top ten in Heisman voting, finishing 10th. Henderson declared for the 2019 NFL Draft on December 12, 2018, foregoing the rest of his collegiate career.
